Guide · Shopify Forms → Notion

Shopify contact form to Notion without Zapier

Shopify Forms has no native Notion destination: submissions become metaobject entries, with email notifications and Shopify Flow templates (internal email, marketing email, Google Sheet) as first-party options. Getting rows into Notion means Flow Send HTTP, a metaobjects/create webhook, Make/n8n, Zapier, or skipping Shopify Forms and embedding a form that writes to Notion directly. No fake metrics or testimonials.

Your five options

RouteHow it worksCostCatch
Shopify Flow → Send HTTP → Notion API receiverShopify Forms stores each submission as a metaobject entry. Install Flow, trigger on Metaobject entry created for that form definition, then use Send HTTP (or a small Worker) to POST mapped fields to Notion's Create a page endpoint with parent.database_id.Shopify Flow is included on eligible plans; hosting for a tiny HTTPS receiver if you do not call Notion directly from Flow. Notion API has no per-row fee for typical volumes.You own field mapping from metaobject fields to Notion property types, plus secrets in Flow or the receiver. One Metaobject entry created trigger per flow per form definition.
metaobjects/create webhook → DIY Notion APISubscribe a custom app (or your Worker) to the metaobjects/create webhook topic that Forms uses under the hood. Filter to your form's metaobject definition, map fields, and POST https://api.notion.com/v1/pages.Developer time; Worker/serverless free tiers often cover low volume.You must verify Shopify webhook HMAC, keep the Notion secret off the storefront, and share the target Notion database with your integration (••• → Connections).
Make or n8n (Shopify / webhook → Notion)Point Flow's Send HTTP at a Make or n8n webhook, or use a Shopify trigger where available, then a Notion Create Database Page / Create a Page module with field mapping.Make operations or n8n Cloud subscription; free if you self-host n8n.Another system to monitor. Shopify Admin API connections in Make need correct scopes; Forms data is metaobject-shaped, not a classic "new contact form" trigger.
Zapier (Shopify / Catch Hook → Notion)Use Zapier's Shopify app where it fits, or have Flow Send HTTP to a Zapier Catch Hook, then Notion Create Database Item.Every submission is a Zapier task; multi-step Zaps need a paid plan.This is the per-task bill most people want to avoid. Native Shopify Forms → Notion is not a one-click Shopify admin toggle.
Embed a form that writes to Notion directlyBuild the form in FormToNotion and paste one iframe into a Shopify page, theme section, or custom liquid page when Notion is the only intake destination you need (wholesale inquiry, support, waitlist).Free inbox; live Notion sync is a one-time Pro $20 or Business $49 — no monthly fee or per-task billing.Submissions bypass Shopify Forms, so they do not appear in Forms analytics, create Forms metaobjects, or fire Forms email notifications / Flow templates. It does not import past Shopify Forms entries. Theme editors must allow custom HTML/iframe.

Fastest path when Notion is the only inbox

  1. Create a FormToNotion form whose field labels match your Notion property names.
  2. Connect Notion (Internal Integration Secret + database id) on a paid plan so submissions sync live.
  3. Paste this iframe into a Shopify page or custom Liquid section:
<iframe
  src="https://www.vgt.cc/f/your-slug"
  title="Contact form"
  style="width:100%;min-height:640px;border:0"
  loading="lazy"></iframe>

Replace your-slug with the public slug from your dashboard. Pro is a one-time $20; Business is a one-time $49.

Keep Shopify Forms when…

  • You need Forms pop-ups, discounts, Shop app capture, or customer tagging inside Shopify Admin.
  • You already run Flow on Metaobject entry created for email or Sheets.
  • Compliance expects submissions to stay in Shopify's customer/metaobject model.

Use an embedded Notion form when…

  • Notion is the only destination and you do not want a monthly or per-task bill.
  • You do not want to maintain Flow HTTP mapping or a webhook receiver.
  • The same form also needs a public link outside the storefront.

Honest limits

  • FormToNotion does not read or import existing Shopify Forms / metaobject submissions.
  • The iframe is not styled by your theme CSS.
  • No conditional logic beyond basic field types.
  • Field labels must match Notion property names for a row to map correctly.
  • The free plan stores submissions in the FormToNotion inbox but does not sync to Notion.

The demo form writes to our own Notion database, so you can check the round trip before paying. 14-day refund window on paid plans.
