Guide · Paperform → Notion
Paperform to Notion without Zapier
Paperform already ships a direct Notion integration, so Zapier is often optional. Teams still reach for Zapier, Make, or Pabbly when they need multi-step routing — or they leave Paperform entirely when Notion is the only system of record. Here are four routes, including when you should stay on Paperform. No fake metrics or testimonials.
Your four options
| Route | How it works | Cost | Catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paperform native Notion integration | In the form editor go to After Submission → Integrations & Webhooks → Notion. Connect via OAuth or a private integration token, pick Add page to database (or related actions), and map fields. Quick Integration via /notion can also pull database columns into the form. | Included with a paid Paperform plan that unlocks direct integrations — no separate Zapier bill. | You stay on Paperform’s form builder and pricing. Workspace admins may hit Notion’s “already connected” limit unless they use a private integration token. |
| Paperform → Zapier / Make / Pabbly → Notion | Trigger on New Form Submission, then Create Notion database item and map fields. Same pattern works in Make and Pabbly Connect; Zapier also ships a Paperform → Notion template. | Paperform plan plus an automation tool (Zapier free tier is limited; paid plans often start around $20/mo). | Two subscriptions for a hop you may not need if Paperform’s direct Notion action already covers your fields. |
| Custom Paperform webhook → Notion API | Configure a webhook under After Submission → Integrations & Webhooks. Your endpoint receives each submission and calls Notion’s create-page API with retries and field mapping. | Developer time + hosting. No monthly Zapier fee if you already run a small server. | You own auth, rate limits, schema drift, and monitoring. Overkill for a simple contact form. |
| Embed a form that writes to Notion directly | Build the form in FormToNotion and paste one iframe on your site when Notion — not Paperform’s branded form UX — is the only intake destination you need. | Free inbox; live Notion sync is a one-time Pro $20 or Business $49. | This does not replace Paperform’s payments, calculations, product pages, or advanced logic. It does not import past Paperform submissions. |

Setting up the embed route
- In Notion, create a database with the columns you want, for example
Name,Email,Message. - Sign up and build the form, naming each field exactly like its Notion property.
- In Dashboard → Connect Notion, paste your Notion internal integration secret and database id, then share the database with the integration (••• → Add connections). Live sync to your own Notion is a Pro or Business feature.
- On your site, add an HTML / embed block and paste:
<iframe src="https://www.vgt.cc/f/your-slug" title="Contact form" style="width:100%;min-height:640px;border:0" loading="lazy"></iframe> - Publish the page, submit once yourself, and check the new row in Notion.
Stay with Paperform when…
- You already pay for Paperform and need its branded UX, payments, calculations, or product pages.
- The native Notion direct integration (or a light Zap) covers your field mapping.
- Respondents must stay on a Paperform-hosted experience you already customized.
Use an embedded Notion form when…
- Notion is the only intake destination and you do not need Paperform’s advanced features.
- You want Notion rows without a monthly Paperform + Zapier stack.
- The same form also needs a public link or iframe outside Paperform.
Honest limits
- FormToNotion does not read or import existing Paperform submissions.
- No Paperform payments, calculations, products, appointment booking, or full form logic parity.
- No file uploads or conditional logic beyond basic field types.
- Field labels must match Notion property names for a row to map correctly.
- The free plan stores submissions in the FormToNotion inbox but does not sync to Notion.
See it work first
The demo form writes to our own Notion database, so you can check the round trip before paying. 14-day refund window on paid plans.
