WPForms to Notion without Zapier

WPForms has no first-party Notion button. WordPress teams usually bridge with Zapier, Uncanny Automator, Make, or Pabbly — or push entries through WPForms webhooks to a custom endpoint. If Notion is the only system of record and you do not need WPForms-specific features, a direct Notion form can skip WPForms entirely. Here are four routes. No fake metrics or testimonials.

Your four options

RouteHow it worksCostCatch
WPForms → Uncanny Automator / Make / Pabbly → NotionTrigger on a new WPForms entry, then Notion “Create database item”. Map WPForms field labels to Notion properties in the no-code builder. Uncanny Automator is popular on WordPress; Make and Pabbly also publish WPForms connectors — confirm the exact modules on your plan.WPForms license (Lite is free for basic forms; Pro unlocks webhooks and more) plus Automator/Make/Pabbly (often cheaper at low volume than Zapier paid plans).Two (or three) subscriptions for field mapping. Keep this stack when the same entry also fans out to Slack, CRM, or membership plugins.
WPForms webhooks / API → your endpoint → Notion APIUse WPForms Pro webhooks (or a custom form action / snippet) to POST entries to your HTTPS endpoint. Your server calls Notion’s create-page API with retries and field mapping. Optional shared-secret header for verification.Developer time + hosting + WPForms Pro (webhooks). No monthly Zapier fee if you already run a small server.You own verification, rate limits, schema drift when fields change, file uploads, and monitoring. Overkill for a simple contact form. Lite does not include webhooks.
WPForms → Zapier → NotionZapier’s WPForms ↔ Notion integration: new entry trigger → Notion “Create Database Item”. Fastest no-code path if you already pay for Zapier.WPForms (Pro often needed for reliable Zapier triggers) plus Zapier (task limits; paid plans for reliable volume). Polling on free Zapier can lag.Exactly the Zapier bill this guide helps you avoid. Fine when Zapier is already the company-wide automation bus.
Embed a form that writes to Notion directlyBuild the form in FormToNotion and paste one iframe on your WordPress (or any) site when Notion — not WPForms payment forms, multi-page surveys, or advanced conditional logic — is the only intake destination you need.Free inbox; live Notion sync is a one-time Pro $20 or Business $49.This does not replace WPForms payment forms, file uploads, conversational forms, or User Registration-style flows. It does not import past WPForms entries.

Setting up the embed route

  1. In Notion, create a database with the columns you want, for example Name, Email, Message.
  2. Sign up and build the form, naming each field exactly like its Notion property.
  3. In Dashboard → Connect Notion, paste your Notion internal integration secret and database id, then share the database with the integration (••• → Add connections). Live sync to your own Notion is a Pro or Business feature.
  4. On your WordPress (or any) site, add a Custom HTML / embed block and paste:
    <iframe
      src="https://www.vgt.cc/f/your-slug"
      title="Contact form"
      style="width:100%;min-height:640px;border:0"
      loading="lazy"></iframe>
  5. Publish the page, submit once yourself, and check the new row in Notion.

Stay with WPForms when…

  • You need payment forms, conversational forms, surveys, or advanced conditional logic.
  • A light Automator/Make/Pabbly (or existing Zapier) hop covers your Notion field mapping.
  • Respondents must stay on WPForms already wired into your WordPress theme/plugins.

Use an embedded Notion form when…

  • Notion is the only intake destination and you do not need WPForms-specific features.
  • You want Notion rows without a monthly WPForms Pro + Zapier/Automator stack.
  • The same form also needs a public link or iframe outside WordPress.

Honest limits

  • FormToNotion does not read or import existing WPForms entries.
  • No WPForms payment forms, file-upload parity, conversational forms, or survey add-ons.
  • No conditional logic beyond basic field types.
  • Field labels must match Notion property names for a row to map correctly.
  • The free plan stores submissions in the FormToNotion inbox but does not sync to Notion.
