Guide · Gravity Forms → Notion
Gravity Forms to Notion without Zapier
Gravity Forms has no first-party Notion button. WordPress teams usually bridge with Zapier, Uncanny Automator, Make, or Pabbly — or push entries through Gravity webhooks / the REST API to a custom endpoint. If Notion is the only system of record and you do not need Gravity-specific features, a direct Notion form can skip Gravity entirely. Here are four routes. No fake metrics or testimonials.
Your four options
| Route | How it works | Cost | Catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gravity Forms → Uncanny Automator / Make / Pabbly → Notion | Trigger on a new Gravity Forms entry, then Notion “Create database item”. Map Gravity field labels to Notion properties in the no-code builder. Uncanny Automator is popular on WordPress; Make and Pabbly also publish Gravity Forms connectors — confirm the exact modules on your plan. | Gravity Forms license plus Automator/Make/Pabbly (often cheaper at low volume than Zapier paid plans). | Two (or three) subscriptions for field mapping. Keep this stack when the same entry also fans out to Slack, CRM, or membership plugins. |
| Gravity Forms webhooks / REST API → your endpoint → Notion API | Use the Gravity Forms Webhooks add-on (or poll/create via the GF REST API) to POST entries to your HTTPS endpoint. Your server calls Notion’s create-page API with retries and field mapping. Optional shared-secret header for verification. | Developer time + hosting + Gravity Forms (and Webhooks add-on if required). No monthly Zapier fee if you already run a small server. | You own verification, rate limits, schema drift when fields change, file uploads, and monitoring. Overkill for a simple contact form. |
| Gravity Forms → Zapier → Notion | Zapier’s Gravity Forms ↔ Notion integration: new entry trigger → Notion “Create Database Item”. Fastest no-code path if you already pay for Zapier. | Gravity Forms license plus Zapier (task limits; paid plans for reliable volume). Polling on free Zapier can lag. | Exactly the Zapier bill this guide helps you avoid. Fine when Zapier is already the company-wide automation bus. |
| Embed a form that writes to Notion directly | Build the form in FormToNotion and paste one iframe on your WordPress (or any) site when Notion — not Gravity’s payment feeds, multi-page quizzes, or advanced conditional logic — is the only intake destination you need. | Free inbox; live Notion sync is a one-time Pro $20 or Business $49. | This does not replace Gravity Forms payment feeds, file uploads, quizzes, or User Registration add-ons. It does not import past Gravity entries. |

Setting up the embed route
- In Notion, create a database with the columns you want, for example
Name,Email,Message. - Sign up and build the form, naming each field exactly like its Notion property.
- In Dashboard → Connect Notion, paste your Notion internal integration secret and database id, then share the database with the integration (••• → Add connections). Live sync to your own Notion is a Pro or Business feature.
- On your WordPress (or any) site, add a Custom HTML / embed block and paste:
<iframe src="https://www.vgt.cc/f/your-slug" title="Contact form" style="width:100%;min-height:640px;border:0" loading="lazy"></iframe> - Publish the page, submit once yourself, and check the new row in Notion.
Stay with Gravity Forms when…
- You need payment feeds, quizzes, User Registration, or advanced conditional logic.
- A light Automator/Make/Pabbly (or existing Zapier) hop covers your Notion field mapping.
- Respondents must stay on Gravity-hosted forms already wired into WordPress.
Use an embedded Notion form when…
- Notion is the only intake destination and you do not need Gravity-specific features.
- You want Notion rows without a monthly Gravity + Zapier/Automator stack.
- The same form also needs a public link or iframe outside WordPress.
Honest limits
- FormToNotion does not read or import existing Gravity Forms entries.
- No Gravity payment feeds, file-upload parity, quizzes, or User Registration add-ons.
- No conditional logic beyond basic field types.
- Field labels must match Notion property names for a row to map correctly.
- The free plan stores submissions in the FormToNotion inbox but does not sync to Notion.
