Microsoft Forms to Notion without a Premium flow

Microsoft Forms saves responses to its own results view or an Excel workbook. There is no built-in “send to Notion” option, so the usual answer is a Power Automate flow, and the Notion connector there is a Premium connector. If the only goal is “each response becomes a row in my Notion database”, a form that talks to the Notion API directly is shorter. No fake metrics or testimonials.

Your four options

RouteHow it worksCostCatch
Power Automate + Notion connectorTrigger “When a new response is submitted” → “Get response details” → Notion “Create a page” in your database. The Notion (Independent Publisher) connector is classed Premium, so it needs a Power Automate Premium license.Every Forms question must be mapped to a Notion property by hand; some users report falling back to a raw HTTP call to the Notion API when the connector breaks.
Power Automate + HTTP actionSame trigger, then an HTTP POST to api.notion.com/v1/pages with your integration token and a JSON body. The HTTP action is also a Premium feature in Power Automate. You maintain the JSON body yourself; property type mistakes fail silently until you check the run history.
Make or ZapierMicrosoft Forms (or the Excel sheet it writes) as trigger → Notion “Create a database item”.Monthly automation plan with an operation/task quota. One more account and bill whose only job is moving a row.
A form that writes to Notion directlyReplace the Microsoft Form with a FormToNotion form whose fields are named like your Notion properties.Free inbox; live Notion sync is a one-time Pro $20 or Business $49.It is a different form, not an import of your existing Microsoft Form or its responses.

Connector class per Microsoft's Notion (Independent Publisher) connector page. Check your own Microsoft 365 licensing before deciding.

Setting up the direct route

  1. In Notion, create (or reuse) a database with the columns you want, for example Name, Email, Department, Request.
  2. Sign up and recreate your Microsoft Form's questions, naming each field exactly like its Notion property.
  3. In Dashboard → Connect Notion, paste your Notion internal integration secret and database id, then share the database with the integration (••• → Add connections). Live sync to your own Notion is a Pro or Business feature.
  4. Share the public link /f/your-slug wherever you shared the Microsoft Form: Teams chat, email, SharePoint page or an iframe on your site.

Stay on Microsoft Forms + Power Automate when…

  • Your org already pays for Power Automate Premium.
  • The form must stay inside your Microsoft 365 tenant (sign-in only, org-restricted).
  • You need quizzes, branching or Microsoft's response analytics.

Use a direct Notion form when…

  • Notion is where the team actually works the requests.
  • You don't want a Premium license just to move rows.
  • A public, no-sign-in intake form is fine.

Honest limits

  • FormToNotion does not import existing Microsoft Forms or past responses.
  • No Microsoft 365 sign-in restriction, quizzes or branching logic.
  • Field labels must match Notion property names for a row to map correctly.
  • The free plan stores submissions in the FormToNotion inbox but does not sync to Notion.
