Guide · Kit (ConvertKit) → Notion
Kit (ConvertKit) form to Notion without Zapier
Kit (formerly ConvertKit) is an email and audience platform first: native Forms grow your list inside Kit, and the official Notion app mirrors subscribers one-way into a Notion database — not a general contact-form inbox. Creators usually keep Kit Forms for growth, use the Notion app for subscriber CRM, wire webhooks or Zapier/Make into Notion, or embed a form that already writes contact rows to Notion. No fake metrics or testimonials.
Your five options
| Route | How it works | Cost | Catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kit Notion app (native one-way sync) | In Automate → Apps, install Notion. Kit creates a Notion database that mirrors your subscriber list (Email + Name always; optional Tags and custom fields you select). Enable Ongoing sync so new/updated subscribers create or update rows. Sync is Kit → Notion only. | Requires a paid Kit plan. The Notion app itself has no extra fee per Kit Help. Kit Creator starts around $39/mo (up to 1,000 subscribers; scales by tier — verify on kit.com/pricing). | This is subscriber CRM sync, not a general contact, tip-line, or sponsor inbox. Editing Notion does not change Kit. Custom field values may not update after the database is created (known Kit limitation). |
| Kit Forms embed (JS / HTML / URL / WP) | Grow → Landing Pages & Forms → Embed. Kit recommends the JavaScript embed in a custom HTML block (not a Script block). Alternatives: raw HTML, direct Form URL, or WordPress shortcode via the Kit plugin. New signups join your Kit audience. | Forms and landing pages are included on Kit Free (up to 10,000 subscribers) and paid plans. No Zapier bill. | Audience growth stays inside Kit. Embeds do not write arbitrary contact-message rows to a Notion database by themselves. Landing Pages are full-page destinations and cannot be embedded inline like Forms. |
| Kit webhooks → DIY receiver → Notion API | Create an endpoint via Automations → Webhooks UI or POST https://api.kit.com/v4/webhook_endpoints (events like subscriber.created). Kit POSTs a signed payload (X-Kit-Signature). Your HTTPS receiver verifies the HMAC, then POSTs https://api.notion.com/v1/pages with parent.database_id. Keep the Notion secret server-side. | Developer time; needs a Kit plan with API access. Serverless free tiers often cover low volume. No monthly Zapier task meter. | You own spam handling, property-type mapping, retries, and signature verification. Respond 2xx within Kit's timeout window. Never put Notion or Kit secrets in page HTML. |
| Zapier or Make (Kit → Notion) | Zapier lists Kit triggers such as New Form Subscriber paired with Create Notion database item. Make/n8n can use Kit webhooks or API the same way. | Zapier tasks or Make operations every event, on top of whatever Kit plan you already pay. | Two subscriptions whose only job is moving a row. Best for subscriber CRM sync — not free-form contact messages unless you embed a separate form first. Zaps fail quietly when fields rename. |
| Embed a form that writes to Notion directly | Build the form in FormToNotion and paste one iframe into a contact or "work with me" page (Carrd, Framer, Webflow, WordPress HTML block, etc.). Submissions sync to your Notion database over the official API — no Zapier hop. Honest catch: it does not create Kit subscribers. | Free inbox; live Notion sync is a one-time Pro $20 or Business $49 — no monthly form SaaS or per-task bill. | The form lives on vgt.cc inside an iframe, not as native Kit Form markup. It will not grow your Kit list or replace the Kit Notion subscriber sync. Use Kit Forms for newsletter signup; use this path for CRM inquiries. |

Fastest path when Notion is the only inbox
- Create a FormToNotion form whose field labels match your Notion property names.
- Connect Notion (Internal Integration Secret + database id) on a paid plan so submissions sync live.
- On your contact or sponsor page (any host that allows an HTML/iframe block), paste:
<iframe
src="https://www.vgt.cc/f/your-slug"
title="Contact form"
style="width:100%;min-height:640px;border:0"
loading="lazy"></iframe>Replace your-slug with the public slug from your dashboard. Pro is a one-time $20; Business is a one-time $49. Keep Kit Forms for newsletter signup if you still want list growth.
Stay with Kit-native paths when…
- You only need newsletter signup and Kit Subscribers is enough.
- You want a paid-plan Notion mirror of Active/Unsubscribed subscribers + selected tags.
- You already pay for Zapier/Make and the subscriber→Notion pipeline is stable.
Use an embedded Notion form when…
- Notion is the CRM for tips, collabs, and ads — not the subscriber list.
- You want Notion rows without a monthly form SaaS or per-task bill.
- The same form also needs a public link outside Kit.
Honest limits
- FormToNotion does not create Kit subscribers or import past audience rows.
- The Kit Notion app does not turn a contact form into free-form Notion messages.
- The iframe is not styled by your Kit Form theme CSS.
- No payments, file uploads, or deep conditional logic.
- Field labels must match Notion property names for a row to map correctly.
- The free plan stores submissions in the FormToNotion inbox but does not sync to Notion.
